Emerson Investment Management is an independent wealth management firm located in the heart of Boston's financial district. As a privately held company dealing with high net worth individuals, Emerson emphasizes its investment in lasting relationships and strong partnerships.
The Challenge:
When we first met with the Emerson team, they highlighted several key areas of their website that required immediate improvement. First and foremost, the website lacked the visual punch desired to attract their target audience. Site usability was also lacking as oftentimes visitors would come to the site and struggle to find important information. It was clear from our strategy meetings that a complete visual and content overhaul was going to be a critical component of the project, in addition to meeting federal compliance guidelines. Adding to these challenges, the marketing team didn't have any cost effective means to update their website. Keeping a fresh and updated site was clearly important to Emerson's overall marketing plan as was keeping site maintenance costs manageable in the future.

Here's how we did it:
Facilitated a complete rewrite of their content through a compywriter to ensure compliance
Created a unique design that modernized the site and personalized the overall organization
Trained Emerson staff on how to update the site independently from Blue Coda and take full advantage of the underlying content management system
Provided Emerson with a written guide to supplement their training on how to make changes and updates to their site
Integrated Google Analytics, which provides numerous tracking and assessment tools such as tracking campaign effectiveness, visibility of specific pages and statistics on the varying browsers used to view the site
Created a customized biography section called "Our Team" that introduces all Emerson staff members
Created a general login area and an additional secure area for clients to log in and access a repository of files
Results:
Emerson Investment Management's site launched at the end in December as Blue Coda's final launch in 2009. In 2010 the site has been positively recognized by both internal company members as well as clients and general site viewers.
